Samsung is preparing for release budget-friendly versions of its foldable Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold models, an increasing number of reports claim. They are said to fall under the “Fan Edition” series, but details are rather scarce at the moment. But the latest information from a tipster gives us something to work with.
According to rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip FE will run on the Exynos 2400 chip this year. But when the device is actually launched, the SoC will be at least a year old. This indicates a slightly different strategy compared to the standard S FE series, which tends to get the latest chipset, albeit a toned-down version like the Galaxy S24FE with the Exynos 2400e.
Please note that this does not automatically mean that the Z Fold FE will use the same SoC. Samsung may decide something different.
While it may sound a bit disappointing to some, we believe it is a sensible way to reduce costs. The Exynos 2400 will be fine by 2025, and more people will be able to afford a foldable device.
