Google Maps is getting a nice feature in the run-up to the Christmas and New Year holidays: product listings from stores. This means you can search for products from selected stores directly from the Google Maps search bar.
The products are updated with inventory lists so you know where and when to pick them up. Search results will show product listings for items such as clothing and electronics, similar to what you’ll find on Google Shopping.
Google Maps is also getting an updated trip planner, helping you avoid traffic and delays in transportation systems. Additionally, Maps displays current road reports for unplowed snow and blocked roads.
Users with electric vehicles powered by Google can now plan trips on their phone with charging stop details and send those planned trips directly to their car. Drivers in North America who will be hauling gear can now add freight sizes and get trailer-friendly routes that avoid low bridges and tunnels.
