This Wednesday, Honor will unveil the next major version of its Android software, MagicOS 9.0. Next Wednesdaythe company will also unveil the first flagships to use that software: the Honor Magic7 series.
The company even offered a quick look at one of the phones, likely the Honor Magic7 Pro. Here’s the teaser video, showing the distinctive camera island shape we also saw on the Magic6, but now with four lenses instead of three.
This colorway is called “Moon Shadow Grey” and is inspired by the first science fiction film A trip to the moon.
What the video doesn’t show is the front end – you can see that (in schematic form) in the owner’s manual. Like the Magic6 Pro, the Magic7 Pro will have a pill-shaped hole with 3D ToF sensor for secure facial recognition.
The rear camera offers 6x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom. As you can see from the diagram, the top left module has the square lens typical of periscope modules.
The user manual also shows the location of the side keys, the USB-C port (which can also handle wired headphones, there’s no 3.5mm jack) and the dual nano SIM card tray (there’s no microSD slot).
You can also view the front of the Honor Magic7 Pro owned by CEO George Zhao. It is understood that the phone, like its predecessor, will have a curved display.
