The Motorola Edge 50 has reached our office and we’re about to put it through our testing course. Our unit has a vegan suede back called “Koala Grey,” although it is also available in the Pantone 2024 Color of the Year Peach Fuzz version.
The Edge 50 is quite impressive for its lightweight feel. The back panel has nothing to do with the soft touch of natural suede; it’s closer to the thick, buttery feel of synthetic microfiber material.
Motorola also includes a protective case in the box, which hides the color and offers a more familiar feel in the hand. It also only clicks at the top and bottom, so you can constantly feel how thin and elegant the device is.
The box is recyclable and extremely environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, this also means that Motorola hasn’t provided an adapter: there’s only a USB-C to USB-C cable. The Edge 50 supports 68W charging, and while some markets may get a charger, most will get the slim box.
The package also includes stickers highlighting its IP68 rating, Class B repairability, and Class A durability, courtesy of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The Edge 50 has the same cameras as the Edge 50 Neo. However, we expect images to turn out slightly differently due to the Qualcomm chipset, which should ensure faster processing speeds. The battery is also a lot larger and the capacity of 5,000 mAh should ensure longer endurance for us Battery life test 2.0.
The full review is already underway. Once we are done with all the testing, it will be on our homepage. Stay informed!
