Just a few hours ago a leak brought us a look at all the colors of the coming Samsung Galaxy A16 in both 4G and 5G iterations, and now a new leak sheds light on one of the most important aspects of these phones: their prices.
According to a European retailer’s internal database, the Galaxy A16 4G will cost €209.90, while the Galaxy A16 5G will cost €239.90. Both prices include 128GB of storage, but it’s unclear how much RAM they get since this database apparently doesn’t store that information.
If these are the base models – and the price leads us to believe they are – then it wouldn’t be surprising to see them paired with 4GB of RAM, an amount previously rumored for the A16 series. That’s far too little RAM for an Android device in 2024, so we recommend going for at least 6 GB, although that may cost you well above the above amounts. The 8 GB version, the top version in combination with 256 GB of storage, would cost even more, but it is still unclear exactly how much.
As usual with price-related leaks, keep in mind that these prices won’t translate very well directly to other currencies. Even within the EU there are multiple VAT levels that can influence pricing somewhat.
The Galaxy A16 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC (in USA and Thailand) or the Samsung Exynos 1330 (seemingly everywhere else). It will have a 6.7-inch 1080×2340 LCD touchscreen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness, a 5,000mAh battery, and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
One of the most important ‘features’ will undoubtedly be the software supportincluding six major Android updates and six years of security patches, something that’s hard to match at that price. On the other hand, not much is known about the 4G version of the A16, but it might be identical except for the chipset, as was the case with the A15 And A15 5G.
