Did you watch Apple’s big event yesterday? There were some cool upgrades, but also some disappointments – is Apple really selling $800 and $900 phones with 60Hz displays? Yeah, yeah, it is. You can get a foldable phone for less than that, or one of the best Android cameras for about that much.
Discover Samsung is a quarterly sales event and the fall edition is this week. It’s a mix of daily and week-long deals. Some deals give you time to think about, others you have until midnight.
Today’s Daily Deal is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6. The base 256GB model is $1,100, while the 512GB model is $1,220 (those are the MSRPs). If you don’t have anything to trade in, Samsung is offering a $150 instant rebate.
But if you go the trade-in route, things get interesting. You don’t really need much, almost every smartphone comes with $200 in credit, so now’s the time to dig in your drawer. Plus, you can get 20% off Samsung Care+ with Theft & Loss protection. The monthly plan (cancel anytime) costs $14.40/month (down from $18/month), a 2-year plan costs $280 (down from $350).
Alternatively, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 for $450 off with a trade-in. Each smartphone should fetch you $300 with a trade-in. If you have something older, like the Z Fold2, that’s worth $600. Note that the $450 is only offered if you choose the ‘no trade-in’ option.
Not everyone is a fan of foldables, so check out the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra instead. It has a 6.8-inch display, about the same size as the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and a better zoom camera with a 111mm lens and 50MP sensor (vs. 120mm 12MP). There’s also a mid-range zoom camera (10MP 67mm). The rebate without trade-in is $300, but you can get up to $750 in credit if you send in your old device.
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ is an alternative to the iPhone 16 Plus. It has a 6.7-inch display, but it’s a sharper 120Hz LTPO panel, not the outdated 60Hz panel you get from Apple. It has an MSRP of $1,000, but the $200 off with no trade-in brings that under the 16 Plus’s price (and that’s for 256GB of storage, not 128GB).
You can pair your new Samsung phone with a new smartwatch. The Galaxy Watch Ultra lasted three days without AOD in our tests. The watch has a 1.5” screen and is suitable for diving with a 10ATM rating. It also has ECG and blood pressure monitoring.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is the thinnest watch yet, at 9.7mm, which is quite the feat. And yet the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 is already 9.7mm thin. You can get a Bluetooth/Wi-Fi-only watch or an LTE model (+$50).
While you’re at it, you can also pick up some new TWS headphones. The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 are $20 off , and you can get up to $100 in credit when you trade in your old buds. Plus, you’ll get a free Clip Case, if you want some extra protection.
The higher-end Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro don’t have an outright discount, but they do have an offer for up to $100 in trade-in credit. These also come with a free Clip Case (normally $30).
