This is Xiaomi’s Smart Band 9 and it’s on sale now in Europe for €40/£35. It comes in a small box with its own magnetic pin charger that ends in a USB-A port.
The smart band’s easily removable casing lends itself well to accessories: we received the two-tone leather band (normally £18) and the running clip (£8), which allows you to attach the band to your trainers.

Due to size differences, the running clip 9 is only compatible with the Smart Band 9.
So what’s new on the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 compared to the 8? It’s still slightly smaller, although you’re unlikely to notice a difference. The accuracy of health tracking has improved – Xiaomi claims 16% better tracking of heart rate and blood oxygen saturation. A 7.9% improvement in sleep tracking accuracy has also been reported.
The new band brings with it a larger 230 mAh battery compared to the 190 mAh of its predecessor.
Unfortunately, there’s no GPS on the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 and you’ll either have to wait for the Smart Band 9 Pro to arrive with a bigger screen and GPS, or go for the Smart Band 8 Pro.
